UUCNH – Lay Pastoral Care
We provide human kindness to one another as members of our church
Lay Pastoral Care (LPC)
The purpose of the Lay Pastoral Care Team (LPCT) is to extend pastoral ministry by reaching out to any members and friends of the church who are facing a challenge. We provide a special touch of human kindness and an open ear on behalf of the church and the minister. The Lay Pastoral Care Team does not do counseling, perform therapy or offer advice. In every one of our contacts we remember the importance of confidentiality. The Lay Pastoral Care Team members will be in contact only with other Team members regarding important information. Information shared with Lay Pastoral Care Team members is treated with the complete confidentiality. So if you could use support, or if you know of someone who might, please contact a Lay Pastoral Care Team member.
Joys and Sorrows
Every Sunday, we share the Joys and Sorrows of our community in the service. We support each other by responding as a congregation to each joy or sorrow shared. We can also include them in the e-News, if you like.
To be included in a Sunday service, just fill out the form (link below) by noon on Saturday. We welcome your sharing and would be honored to carry forth your message.
The Helping Hands ministry is one way that volunteers can reach out to others within our community with a meal, a ride, or some other short-term help (like lending medical equipment) at a moment when it is most needed. If you would like to sign up to make a dish sometime during the year, please contact Helping Hands. If you feel called to help in this way, please do so! We need your help to make sure everyone is cared for. Also, should you have a need or if you know of someone in our congregation who may be in the hospital, has had a baby, is dealing with grief or anything else that the church would like to reach toward with love, please contact UUCNH Office Administrator.
