The purpose of the 4th Sunday Forum is to provide a forum for group discussion of a wide latitude of topics deemed important to members of the group, and to provide the opportunity for those involved to hear, understand, and appreciate one another’s thoughts

Sunday, July 24, noon – 1:15 pm by Zoom and in-person in the East Room.   Songs! Throughout human history – and likely most of pre-history – humans have expressed emotions, and told stories, and engaged in group bonding by fitting words into rhythm and tone.  The advent of the radio shifted the experience of song from a mostly communal activity to a listening experience, and development of portable devices let listening be a solitary activity – something lost/gained?  Are there any songs that especially move you – that you carry with you and play inside your head a lot?  Do songs reflect cultural changes or help drive them (think songs of protest, angry rap, blues, heavy metal)?  Join us as we share perspectives on this ubiquitous part of human experience.  To get onto the email list for more information and login information, contact Dick Myers.  Note: the login information for these monthly Zoom meetings is the same each month.
